Why should you join Close to My Heart?

Anna and Johanne have both taken advantage of Close to My Heart's May special and joined me Creative Canadian's team for only $70 ($95 including shipping).  And they received a TON of stuff in  their kit!!!!!  I'd love to have you join us too!

They both had a few questions before they signed up.  I found this list of questions on fellow consultant Lisa Stenz's blog  and I've added them here, changing the info to fit for us here in Canada.  I hope that these will answer some of the questions you have about joining Close to My Heart.

You can join my team as long as you live in Canada - it doesn't matter if you are in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, or almost anywhere in between.

  1. How much does the New Consultant Kit cost?
The regular price is $140 (plus tax and shipping) but if you sign up before May 31st, you get it at 1/2 price for only $70!
  2. What comes in the New Consultant Kit?
You get a choice of 3 different “Choose Me” Options that you can see here. Plus if you sign up in May, you also get the You & Me Scrapbooking Kit for FREE! (That's a value of over $300 depending on which options you choose!)
  3. What’s the catch?
Other than getting a ton of wonderful products at a great deal and most likely getting addicted to them, there is no catch. You have the opportunity to build a business if you choose, but you don’t have to.
  4. What if I don’t want to build a business and I just want to get the discount for myself on future orders?
That’s great! A majority of Consultants are Hobbyists or Personal Use Consultants and do not do parties or hold classes or workshops. You are welcome to simply enjoy the discount on your own orders.
  5. What is the discount?
Active Consultants enjoy the current discount of at least 22%.  Your discount could be even higher depending on your sales for the month. In October the compensation plan will change...for the better!!! Can you say, discount AND free product??? I can’t wait!
  6. What are the sales requirements?
The sales requirement is $350 retail (before your discount) to stay a full Consultant.

  7. What if I don’t place $350 in a quarter or place any orders at all?
Once you sign up, you have a full quarter to make your sales minimum which means that you have until the end of September to enjoy the full discount if you choose. Then if you do not have $350 in orders, you will drop to Junior Consultant status on October 1st. As a Junior Consultant your discount drops to 10% but you only need to have $100 in orders per quarter. If you do not have $100 in that quarter, you simply drop and are no longer a Consultant. But if you happen to have $300 as a Junior, you automatically jump back up to full status!
  8. How long will I be a Consultant if I order the kit and then do nothing?
You will be active until September 30th. Then you will drop to Junior on October 1st . Then as of January 1st, you will no longer be considered a Consultant.
  9. Do I need to give the Kit back if I drop?
Nope. Everything is yours to keep! No strings attached.
  10. Are you required to maintain an inventory?
Nope. There are so many different products that CTMH actually suggests that you do not maintain an inventory. You can place an order for 1 item or 1000 items, so there is really no need to keep an inventory.

  11. Does the company offer Hostess gifts? If so, who pays for them?
Yes! CTMH pays for the hostess rewards. And as a Consultant, you are welcome to be your own Hostess and earn more free goodies!
  12. Does CTMH offer any training or events?
YES! There are so many different training options available including an entire Online Training Academy where you can take free online creative, business, and personal development classes. There is an entire listening library of recorded conference calls, bulletin boards for artwork, business, templates, Studio J, Swaps, Mentoring, and more. They have pre-designed projects and workshops for us to use. There are annual events such as Leadershare and Convention. And if you choose to "work your business" there are incentive trips that you can ear as well.  The trip for this incentive period (Sept 2010-May 2011) is a Hawaiian Cruise!!!

  13. How do you sign up?
You can sign up here, and enter my consultant number (99974146). It will only take you about 5 minutes. The hardest part will be choosing which bundled products you want in your kit!  Please contact me directly if you have any problems.

  14. How long will it take to receive my kit?
They have been shipping them out very quickly.  Usually it takes about a week for me  to receive packages, but it will depend where you live.

  15. Can I contact you if I have questions after I sign up?
Of course. I am available to my team via phone and email.
Whatever your reason for signing up, there really is no risk! You have nothing to lose! Plus at 50% off and the fact that you get the free You & Me Kit this month, this is the best time to do it! But hurry, you only have a few more days to take advantage of this amazing deal!
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. I’d be more than happy to chat with you.

Or if you are ready to sign up now, you can find the online application here.

All new consultants on my team also receive a small gift from me to start them in their business.

Remember you can only take advantage of this special until May 31st!!

Mommy Could Do It

The other day the radio station we listen to was having a "Pay for Play" Day.  If you bought a ticket for a lottery that was in support of the local children's hospital you could request a song.

So we're int he car, and Monkey say's  "Mommy it's Lightening McQueen!"  Now I do admit it took me a minute to realize he was referring to the song on the radio - Tom Cocharane's "Life is a Highway".  Once it was over he said he wanted to listen to it again.  I told him I couldn't put it on again, but we would try to find it over the weekend.  Again later in the day in the car he told me he wanted to listen to Lightening McQueen again.  I told him again that we would try to find it over the weekend.

The next day he's in the car with his dad and says that he want's to listen to Lightening McQueen.  Daddy says that he can't make it play on the radio, but we'll try to find it at home.  Monkey's response ..... "Mommy could do it."

We Belong

For this card, we made a "puddle pad" to use as a stamp pad.  To do this take a baby wipe, place it on a paper plate (or something that you don't mind getting ink on), and then add drops of re-inker to the baby wipe in various colours and patterns.  Once this is complete, stamp your image as usual.  The thing I love most about this technique is  that no image will ever look the same.

Supplies used(all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Pattern: Simple Expression (Wishes)
Paper: Miracle
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Twilight stamp pad, twilight re-inker, heavenly blue re-inker, sweet leaf re-inker, pear re-inker

Other items:  3-D zots
Technique:  Puddle pad

Sophia's Heartfelt Treasure

We made this card at a card workshop last week.  Because everyone who attended were "seasoned scrappers", I wanted to use a few techniques on the various cards.  For this one I tinted the fun flock green with pear re-inker before the workshop, and then added it to the leaves with liquid glass for a fun texture.   I also added a pink flower button to the middle of the flower after I took this picture.

Supplies used(all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Pattern:  A Heartfelt Classic (Originals)
Paper:  Sophia
Stamps:  Heartfelt Treasures
Ink: Hollyhock, Pear
Embellishments:  Fun flock

But the Birds are Singing

You never know what kids are going to say, and my little monkey has had  a few great ones over the past few days.  I thought I'd try to post one funny comment/quote/etc once a week, so keep checking back to see what else the kids have had to say.

The little monkey has been getting up at 5:15 or 5:30 lately.  We try to get him to go to the bathroom, and then he can crawl back into bed with us until a more "reasonable" hour - usually 6:00 or when the Princess wakes up.  Well the other morning he comes into my room at 4:50AM!!!!!  So I tell him to go to the bathroom and then it's time to go back to bed because it's too early to be up.  He says:  "But mom, it's not too early - the birds are singing."

Sigh.......

Alzheimer's Walk for Memories

Next Saturday, May 14, my mom is walking in the Alzheimer Walk for Memories.

Mom and our friend Tracy a walking in memory of my grandma who battled this horrible disease and passed away almost 7 years ago, and in memory of Tracy's mom who also battled this horrible disease and passed away just a few weeks ago.

Here's an interesting statistic from the Alzheimer Society of Ontario:

I am not able to join them in person on this walk, but will be there in spirit.  Any donations to this walk are greatly appreciated.  You can donate by clicking here.

Let's work on getting to know more about this disease so that Mom, Tracy, myself and my Princess are not one of those numbers listed above.

Birthday Cake

I can't believe that I for got to post this.  Princess celebrated her 1st birthday last month, so I made her a pink butterfly cake.  It ended up being more pink than I had hoped, but it still looked ok.

Happy Mother's Day and some Candy

Wishing all of the Mom's and Mom-to Be's a Happy Mother's Day.

I thought for today I'd develop a "Top 10 List", so here's the 10 best things about being a Mom:

  1. The pure look of joy on my kid's face when I pick them up at the end of the day.
  2. The hugs a kisses I get just because.
  3. The art work that they make.
  4. Watching their accomplishments (I'm still waiting for the Princess to walk though.)
  5. Baking with my Monkey.
  6. Experiencing every day things through their eyes.
  7. Knowing that if you spend the day playing with the kids instead of cleaning, no one is going to care.  And quite frankly it's more fun.
  8. Bed time stories and snuggles.  (It's ususlly the only time the Princess will even snuggle with you.
  9. Playing outside with them - blowing bubbles, going to the park, going for a run.
  10. Watching them play together and laughing at each other for what seems like no reason.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think the best thing is about being a mom.   I'll randomly choose a comment on Friday to win some surprise blog candy.
