Surf's Up

It's summer time and I know we are all spending time outside enjoying the sunshine and the surf!  For this month's blog hop, we are featuring the exclusive "Surf's Up" paper pack from Close to My Heart!    We're celebrating fun in the sun with this colorful paper pack that also has some amazing coordinating accessories and embellishment.

Not only are all of our creations going to use our Surf's Up paper line BUT they will also be using our exclusive Art Philosophy, Artiste, and/or the NEW Artbooking Cricut cartridges available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant!  What ?!?!? If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one of the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!

In this hop, you will see projects featuring this versatile cartridges from many talented crafty ladies!  Enjoy our blog hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Justine of The Twilight Stamper then you are in the right place!

I was so excited to create something with the Surf's Up paper pack for you.  And that I was going to get to play with my Cricut (I really don't get it out enough).  So I looked through the cricut book, looked for ideas in the Close to My Heart idea book, on Pinterest, etc and I just couldn't find what I wanted to show you.  So I left it for a few days.  And then it came to me - simplicity!

Many of the items that I see created from the cricut are beautiful and stunning works of art.  But I think sometimes we forget that we can use our cartridges for the simper things too.  So I decided to make a couple of cards, and keep them simple.  I love how they turned out, and the are the perfect size to use as thank yous for my customers orders.

I used the Artiste Cartridge from Close to my Heart for these cards.  The dial was set at 3 to make them into the cute little 3x3 cards.  I inked the edges with Lagoon ink, and used "A True Thank you" as the sentiment.  It was also stamped in Lagoon, and then I used the Sorbet alcohol markers to colour in "Thank You".  You may remember that this stamp set was used to raise money for the Red Cross after the devastating tornadoes hit Oklahoma.  If you missed purchasing it, you will be able to get it starting August 1st from the Fall/Winter Idea Book.

I'm the last stop on this hop, but if you'd like to start again head back to Lucy's blog at Love 2 Create.

Scentsy Update!

As some of you know, I am also a consultant with Scentsy Family.  This past week I was attended Scentsy Family Reunion (their convention) in Indianapolis.  I had a BLAST and can't wait for next year's event.

I participated in the first Scentsy Family 5K.  This was also only the second 5K that I've completed.  It was HOT and HUMID that morning, but I still managed to finish in just over 45 minutes AND that included having my picture taken in the middle of the race.

Heidi and Orville Thompson (President and CEO of Scentsy) and myself.

But what I really wanted to share with you today, is the expansion of Scentsy.  Starting September 1st, Scentsy AND Grace Adele will be expanding to Australia and Mexico.  If you or someone you know lives in one of these countries, and wants to be a part of this wonderful company, be sure to contact me.  I'm happy to answer any and all questions you may have.

If you'd like to keep up to date on all the new things that are happening with the Scentsy Family, be sure to LIKE my Facebook Page.

So I know that it's still early July, and if you are like me you really don't want to think about the snow yet.  But I thought I'd share the new "FROSTED" paper with you today.  I just signed up to participate in a blog hop with this kit, so be sure that you check back later this month to see what else I created with it ,but for now here is what the Workshop on the Go will look like:

This kit features champagne, colonial white, frosted grey and frosted turquoise.  I love how this paper will look with pictures of the kids playing in the snow.  But I also know that it will look AMAZING with some "pops" of other colours thrown in

And check out the FROSTED card making WOTG!  I'll be offering this kit as a workshop in the fall, so be sure to check back for more details.

Both of these kits will be available starting August 1st.  Be sure to let me know if You'd like to pre-order anything from the new catalogue.  I'll be placing my first order on August 1st.

What's New?

For the month of July I will be sharing some of the new product from the upcoming catalogue with you.  You'll get to see the new paper, new crafting items and more....  And don't forget that you'll be able to get some of these items FREE when you host a gathering (home, catalogue, or online), OR when you joing my host club.

One of the first new things that I'm excited to try out is our new "My Crush" book.  It's Close to my Hearts version of the smash book.  Now I have to admit that I've NEVER seen a smash book before, but I find the concept interesting.

The "My Crush" book will be available in two different styles - Modville and Bluebrd.  Each book is $12.95 and includes 60 10"x7" pages that are wire bound.  And each book also have 2 additional coordinating assortments that are $4.95 each.
